The Importance of Choice for Igniting Student Passion
and Learning Through Research Projects
Students would like this video because it features a student who chose her own preferred method of digital representation for her assigned project. She explains that teachers should allow students free choice on how to complete their presentations based on their passion, whether it be photography, music, or other artistic and digital preferences. This is something that most students would like to voice to their teachers.

Fifth Harmony Overdue Library Book Parody
This video is a creative way to remind students to turn in their overdue books to the library. It is set to a popular song and it contains several students from the campus. This is a video students would enjoy watching because of the popular song and because it showcases students from the school.
Talk about student creativity! It is amazing how creative students can be given the freedom of choice and the right tools to let their imaginations run wild.
I would love to use videos such as the ones in some of these sites to promote all the resources students can find in the library. It is a great way to spark an interest in the library and most of all, a passion for books. I think the videos that have the most impact with students are the ones in which they are able to cooperate in and even complete themselves. What better ambassadors for the library than the students themselves.

Book Trailer
Another great tool to promote the books in the library is the use of book trailers. It is very easy to create them, especially with Animoto.
I created one using the book, The Legend of Spookly the Square Pumpkin.
Scan the QR code to watch the book trailer.
One day in the pumpkin patch the strangest little pumpkin hatched... Spookley the Pumpkin was different. All the other pumpkins teased him, until Spookley proved that being different can save the day! -Goodreads-
QR Codes
Welcome to the Digital Age! QR (Quick Response) Codes are used by many businesses, and now even libraries. It is a type of barcode that is readable with a QR code reader. The app is available for your smartphone.
Libraries are using them for scavenger hunts, games to learn about the library, for entry into websites, and as tags to subject guides related to the topics of the books on the shelves. Libraries are using them in creative and fun ways to promote the library and for access to the library's many resources.
The use of QR Codes can be limitless depending on the creativity of the librarian!
Your Book Trailer is awesome. ( I love using Animoto.) I will need to look for the book "The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpins." I like to have book that students can relate too. Thank you for sharing.
