Easel.ly
First, you need to register with a username and password. You start working right away with examples of different designs. It contains very specific themes, background colors, shapes, text, and you can upload images. One of the cons of the programs is that if your chosen topic does not fit into one of their specific themes, the infographic will be more difficult to create. It also does not provide an introduction of how to work with the program. It just starts you off with designing right away. If you are not a novice at infographic design, this may be the program to use. If you are not used to designing infographics, you may find this program more complicated than others.
Piktochart
Piktochart also begins by logging in with a username and password. It provides templates, icons, stock images or you can upload images, text, tools (graph), backgrounds, and moods. It does send an email with steps on how to start creating or working with infographics. Another plus is that it does allow some animation features, and you can embed videos from YouTube and Vimeo in your design. Some cons include complications when you start moving things around and there is a limited selection of free templates. Higher quality templates are available with a Pro account. You can start for free, but there are pricing packages available for more options.
Infogr.am
You begin by logging in with a username and password. The program contains templates, charts, country maps, text, and you can upload images and embed videos from YouTube or Vimeo. The program is very user-friendly and can work in many browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, and Explorer. You can create and edit charts by changing the data and it has a built-in spreadsheet. Some cons include a paid subscription requirement for downloading options and it can only create infographics and charts. However, if you are a novice at creating infographics, this is the program for you. This is the reason I chose Infogr.am. I found it very easy to understand and use, especially since this is my first try at infographic designing. A great program to start with.
This is my URL for my Infographic:
Glad to see a finished product on infogr.am Apparently I WAS doing something wrong because I could only ever get it to create a graph and nothing else. Great infographic!
ReplyDeleteGreat infographic I noticed you were able to include different graphs and other visuals. Good work.
