Instagram, Vine, Adobe Spark, Screencast-o-matic

Need a quick and innovative way to grab someone's attention?  The following apps and programs are all quick, easy, and available on several mobile devices.  The message or video can be as short as six seconds to 15 minutes in length.  Here's how you can create and share your photos and videos.

Instagram is a social network service used to share photos and videos from a smartphone, even on Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr.  The videos can be up to 15 seconds in length.  There are filters, and you can edit your work.  Instagram is a fun, quick, and mobile way to share your photos and videos.  People can follow you and you can follow people based on the kinds of images you post.

Vine is a video-sharing app that allows you to make short films (six seconds) that you can view on Twitter or embed on a web page.  The video can be played in a continuous loop.  You need to have a compatible smartphone to download the Vine app.  Vine takes most of your information from Twitter, such as your name, photo, and bio.  It transfers it to your new Vine account.

Screencast-o-matic allows you to make a 15-minute screen and web recordings which you can save as a video file.  It has a recorder that allows you to record on-screen activity which you can use for presentations and tutorials.  Screencast-o-matic has a free plan, but you can upgrade to a Single-User Pro Recorder plan for $15 a year.  There is also a Site License Pro Recorder plan for $9 a month.  This is an excellent tool to use in an education setting.  You can create "How-To" videos or tutorials on just about any subject.
I decided to use this program to make a video on how to search on the Destiny online catalog.  I found it user-friendly, uncomplicated, and very useful.

Adobe Spark is an app that allows you to create social media posts and graphics, web stories, and animated videos.  It consists of Spark Post with which you can create social posts and graphics; Spark Page with which you can create web stories which combine text and graphics; and Spark Video with which you can create animated videos with themes, images, icons, and text.  Your project can sync across different devices such as a laptop, desktop, and Chromebook.
I enjoyed using this app to create a short video on an art project that can be completed after reading a children's story, Spookley, the Square Pumpkin.  If you're looking for a user-friendly app to create a post or graphic, a web story, or a video to explain or to put a "spark" in your lesson or presentation, than Adobe Spark is the app for you.
